About Us
FNQ Earthworks is a new, locally-owned earthworks business based right here in Koah on the Kennedy Highway. We started because we saw a gap -- reliable, responsive, fairly-priced excavation work is hard to find between Cairns and the Tablelands.
We're not a big civil contractor with 50 machines. We're one operator, one machine, focused on doing residential and rural work properly. We show up when we say we will, we charge what we quote, and we leave your site clean.
Whether you need driveway repair in Cairns, post hole digging in Mareeba, or stump removal on the Atherton Tablelands, we're here to help.
How It Works
Call us or fill out the form for a free, no-obligation quote. We'll confirm pricing after a quick site visit.
We show up on time with the right gear. Most residential jobs are done in a day.
Clean site, fair invoice, no surprises. And if the wet season washes something out, we'll be back.
FAQ
It depends on the job -- scope, access, soil type, and location all factor in. We quote per project or per hour depending on the work. Every quote is free, no-obligation, and we'll walk you through exactly what's involved before you commit. Request a quote or call us to discuss your job.
Yes, weather permitting. In fact, wet season is our busiest time for drainage installation, flood damage repair, and storm cleanup work across FNQ. We'll always let you know if conditions make it unsafe to work on your site.
We service the full Far North Queensland region from Mossman and Port Douglas in the north to Innisfail, Tully, and Mission Beach in the south, and across the Atherton Tablelands. Our base is in Koah on the Kennedy Highway.
Yes. We are fully insured with public liability cover, hold a current White Card for construction work, and are DBYD (Dial Before You Dig) compliant. We call before every trenching job.
Yes, for defined-scope jobs we provide a fixed price after a site inspection. For open-ended work, we quote an hourly rate. Either way, you'll know exactly what you're paying before we start. No surprises.
We run a 3.5-tonne excavator fitted with an auger attachment, ripper, mud bucket, and grab. It's the right size for residential and rural work -- powerful enough to handle big stumps and hardwood, compact enough to fit through gates and work in tight spaces.
We remove stumps and small trees. For large tree felling, we can recommend a qualified arborist and then handle the stump removal and site cleanup after they're done.
We'll discuss any scope changes with you before proceeding. No surprise charges, ever. If we hit rock or find something unexpected underground, we stop, talk to you, and agree on the next step before continuing.
Gravel supply and delivery for driveways is coming soon. In the meantime, ask us about gravel driveway options -- we can advise on quantities and recommend suppliers.
